I Love you's for our girls...

In our girls cute Valentines day bags they found some candy, a little $5 present and a "Love One Another" sign from Becky Higgins. Its a free printable on her website, you can down load it and print it off as a picture. They only cost 40 cents a piece to print off at Costco and the cost of the frame. I went a little above what I would normally spend for the frames when I saw these at Target, they were just two perfect. I got them on sale for about $4 a piece.

Valentines Day for my hubby

We don't do anything big for Valentines Day at our house, not that I would argue if we did though. Anyways for Valentine's Day this year my hubby was out of his office on Friday so I called one of the nurses at his work that goes to our church and asked her if she would let me into his office she said sure and I was off.

My hubby is extremely private, so I knew that this would kill him that was what made it so much more fun! My girls and I decorated his office with paper hearts and a sign that said "Happy Valentines Day to our #1 Dad!" We left a jar of candy with 4 balloons and letters from my oldest and I. Lastly my youngest and I made him this cute picture and framed it and left it on his desk. She is acting out the actions for "I" "LOVE" "YOU". I took the photos, made them into a collage using Picassa and had them printed at Costco for 40 cents, and used a $2 frame from Walmart. So for under $10 I think he had a pretty fun and embarrassing surprise waiting for him this morning. I didn't get a photo of his office because I forgot my camera, but here is the photo we used. I think this photo is a great idea for any little one to give their, dad, mom, or grandparent.

Valentines Day outfits

My husband says that I am weird because I make Valentines outfits for my girls, but I love an excuse to put them in matching clothes. The thing is I make the outfit for valentines day, but they wear them all spring and summer. My pics are not very good, we were fighting early morning sun, we were running late for church and my darling A just wanted to spin and dance. Every where my more poor girls stood there were shadows or the sun was shining right in their eyes.

I made the girls matching circle skirts using MADE's tutorial, the material is from Joann's its a tie dyed pink, with white tie died hearts on it.

They were just going to wear white shirts but A's brand new white shirt that she had worn once, had a stain on it front and center. So I decided to sew a rosette out of the same material as the skirts to cover it, and I love how it tied it all together. I offered to put 3 rosettes on the color of T's but she didn't want it, she wanted to wear her shirt plain.

Lastly their hair. I made a rosette headband for T's hair and I LOVE it. And for A's hair she got two small rosette hair clips for her piggytails (the only way she wants her hair these days).

I love Valentines and creating for my girls.

Happy Valentines Day to all of you and Happy Crafting!

Valentine's Day Goodie Bags For My Girls

LOVE Them....

I was scared to death to take on this task, I have never made a "bag" other than a diaper pouch. I had looked at some tutorials for the pottery barn Valentine's mail bag and decided to not do it, to scary. Then my friend Malarie wanted to make this one so I said what the heck and took on the challenge! I am so glad that I did, it wasn't as difficult as I feared and I love the way they turned out.

We of course stuck with our color scheme, hot pink bags with black stitching and our inspiration, the "LOVE" material inside. I used this tutorial from
Amy at www.ourscoop.blogspot.com that I found onscribd, it was simple and easy to follow, but you do not need as much felt material as it calls for. I was able to make two out of a 1/2 yard of felt. You do need the amount she says for the lining fabric though. Instead of doing buttons on the back we did velcro and then sewed buttons on. Our embroidery was kind of a combination of both hers and the pottery barn one, our hearts on the front we just used some interfacing and stitched them on with a zig zag stitch.

I am very pleased with how they turned out and I can't wait to fill them with Valentine goodies for my girls. My oldest has already requested to take hers to school for her Valentine's box, I'm not sure how I feel about that yet.

I think she loves it!

Valentine's Day Yarn Wreath

I was seeing yarn wreaths all over the internet and thought this would be a great way to have a wreath that continued to match my Valentine's color scheme. Malarie had just made a ton of rosettes for headbands, so she showed me how to make some. Super simple wreath, I love the look of it. I only wish it was not on my ugly brown front door :(

I wrapped a styrofoam heart wreath with black yarn added some hot pink, pink and white rosettes to the bottom and hung it with a hot pink ribbon that says "Love" in black. Perfect. And what can I say, but I LOVE it too!

Valentine Ribbon Table Runner

Yes another Valentine craft and what can I say, but I LOVE it too. I honestly don't know if its the color combo, crafting with a friend, just crafting or Valentine's Day in general, but I am loving it all! I found the tutorial for a ribbon table runner here, of course it was for Halloween, so that would just not do, we had to to make it hot pink, black, light pink and white.

As my Ava would say, "Cute?"

Happy Crafting!

For Christmas my oldest got a much desired Julie doll from Santa, so we had to make her a cute circle skirt too.

Countdown to Valentine's Day...

Okay, maybe its cheesy, and do you REALLY need a countdown sign? Maybe its for the love of chocolate? Maybe its for the love of crafting? Maybe its for more pink and black? All I know is I LOVE IT!

My friend Malarie and I made these this week using this tutorial here. Can you say LOVE. Is it not adorable? We are both so happy with how they turned out and how well our color scheme is just flowing.

I will admit I am cheating. I have two daughters so one takes her chocolate in the morning, I then put another one in its place with a number also written on the bottom and she gets hers a little while later. I didn't think it was necessary to make two and I didn't want to take away the fun for one of them each day by just handing them a kiss, nor did I want to have them take turns. Now everyone is happy and mom may or may not have kept some extra kisses for herself :)

Another Valentine's Day Banner!

I loved my banner or bunting so much I had to make one for my Mom too! I made my mom's in the more traditional colors of red, light pink and white and I absolutely LOVE hers too!

I am having so much fun with Valentine's crafts this year!
